Simon Legald graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in the summer of 2012. His work consists of both small- and large scale products. Simon's designs are often created in a dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. He also likes to incorporate the techniques that are necessary for the structure of a product into the design by highlighting them visually. "Honesty is what makes a product understandable and is what describes the products functionality. If you understand the product, it does not need any explanation. The essence of my design is for it to be bought and used. Therefore, it has to satisfy not only the functional aspects, but also the psychological and aesthetic needs. For me simplicity describes the true identity of objects and makes them trustworthy. In my design, I try not to add any unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by highlighting the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest expression."

Danish design traditions have left a clear mark on Simon Legald’s chair series, Herit, which is short for heritage. The simple and honest style that characterises Danish furniture history stands as a clear frame of reference for a collection draped in nostalgia. But Herit is just as much a design that looks forward. Innovative production methods, new material compositions and timeless silhouettes give life to a chair that stands tall on its own.
Herit reflects Simon Legald’s love of classic Danish furniture craftsmanship, but rose from a desire to design a versatile and strong chair that unites the different eras of Danish design. A chair in which oak and plastic merge in tactful synergy, to create a hard-wearing, maintenance-friendly and accessible design, made for modern life. The path of the curves is by no means random; it is precisely designed to follow the shape of the body and create the correct support in the seated position. Herit is a chair that truly unfolds its beauty as you move around it and observe the transitions of shapes.
The balanced materials complete a design expression that is contemporary and everlasting. With tradition and renewal combined in equal measure, Herit is a hybrid of time that transcends styles and periods. Whether it moves into a classic apartment, a modernist building or post-modern architecture, it inhabits the space with natural ease and subtle grace.

Craft is a luxury collection of kitchen utensils made from the natural materials marble and oak. The materials' natural weight and beautiful manufacture leads to kitchenware that exudes quality and distinction.
The Craft family consists of salt and pepper mills in two sizes, a rolling pin, a mortar with pestle, a paper towel holder as well as salt and pepper shakers and cellars. The wide range makes it easy to create a permeating style in your kitchen decor.
The pair of salt & pepper shakers - which has been nicknamed Gordon & Andreas - stands out as having personality, humor and character. The design plays on the double meaning of the Danish word ‘bøsse’ (which means both ‘shaker’ and ‘gay’), and the two friends come with and without a painted leather vest, signifying either the salt or the pepper shaker.
The Friends salt & pepper shakers are fun, friendly and eye-catching interpretations of a well-known everyday object. And one cannot help but smile when the two Friends appear on the table.HuskMitNavn vs. Troels Øder Hansen explain about the Friends Salt & Pepper: “The Friends are based on the principle that it’s more fun when it’s funny. The salt and pepper shakers reflect this, exemplifying that everyday objects need not be dull.”Dishwasher safe.

The Basic series consists of four items: a foil cutter, a wine stopper, a corkscrew and a wine pourer that helps oxidize the wine. The designer's aim was to cut out all unnecessary details and gimmicks in order to focus on the raw form and basic function. The organic shapes and the finish add warmth and nostalgia to the design and soften the expression.
Basic is light and comfortable to hold and the satin-like surface ensures that the wine flows easily. The surface has been titanium-treated, making it extra durable. Pour a tasty glass of wine for yourself and your friends using this unique family of wine accessories.
The Liqueur and Cognac glass is an exclusive glass that breaks with the classical convention of design besides being a beautiful combination of function and pure pleasure. It is a glass constructed with consideration to its content's aroma, temperature and volume. The shape of the glass increases the intimate experience of drinking liqueur or cognac by accentuating the deep color and movement of the liquid.
