A playful interlocking of shapes is the key to the first project for Cassina by Dutch designer Freya Tangelder. Soft Corners is a Tetris puzzle of supple shapes designed for versatility and functionality. Three types of ottomans – rectangular, low rectangular and an L-shaped square – can be freely assembled and adapted to any room in the home. They can be seating, footrests or multifunctional accessories. Encapsulated in a basic geometric shape, they express energy and fresh insight through simple, interlocking modules. Each Soft Corners piece has a structural wood core upon which cushy upholstered rubber parts are attached in such a way that all the components can be disassembled.
