Simon Legald graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in the summer of 2012. His work consists of both small- and large scale products. Simon's designs are often created in a dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. He also likes to incorporate the techniques that are necessary for the structure of a product into the design by highlighting them visually. "Honesty is what makes a product understandable and is what describes the products functionality. If you understand the product, it does not need any explanation. The essence of my design is for it to be bought and used. Therefore, it has to satisfy not only the functional aspects, but also the psychological and aesthetic needs. For me simplicity describes the true identity of objects and makes them trustworthy. In my design, I try not to add any unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by highlighting the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest expression."

The Grow coffee table is made of solid oak in a finely balanced design with references to classic Danish shaker style. The table is named for the smooth transition between the tabletop and legs, which gives the impression that the legs are growing out of the tabletop.
With its simple silhouette and shapely details, Grow alludes to the luxury of simplicity. The tabletop's chamfered edges and the oval legs lend the table a visual lightness, allowing the gorgeous oak wood to take center stage. Grow is a versatile design with timeless class.

Simon Legald's Junto series is inspired by the traditional Spanish ceramics. The design is both rigorous and soft, with a hearty, hand-made feel from its rustic, fired terracotta. The Junto carafe and cups are joined by oil and vinegar bottles, salt and pepper shakers and a wide selection of bowls and dishes.
With 14 pieces, Junto is well equipped for many enjoyable dinners. Mini versions of the series' characteristic carafe bring oil and vinegar to the table, while the salt and pepper shakers bring you that final touch of seasoning, all in the same organic form that runs through the series. Along with the large serving bowls for salads and the small dishes for tapas, snacks and desserts, the opportunities offered by this versatile set are manifold. All of the pieces share a delicate interplay between surfaces that are both mat and glazed, grooved and smooth.
Use Junto as a single set or mix and match it with your existing porcelain. The earthy red colors of fired terracotta bring depth and glow to the interior, and introduce a touch of southern warmth to your table.
